JASION : Greek demi-god of the Samothracian mysteries ; mythology : IASION
IASION was an agricultural demi-god or hero, the springtime consort of the goddess Demeter in the Kabeirian mysteries of the island of Samothrake.
Iasion in myth was a mortal-lover of Demeter, who was struck down by Zeus with a thunderbolt when he discovered the pair copulating in a thrice-ploughed field.
To Iasion and Demter, according to the story the myths relate, was born Ploutos (Wealth), but the reference is, as a matter of fact, to the wealth of the corn, which was presented to Iasion because of Demeter’s association with him at the time of the wedding of Harmonia.

Remsberg's List of writers that did not mention Jesus is bogus!
So we conclude that Iasion is talking out of his hat to claim that "If Jesus had existed, Philo would almost certainly have written about him and his teachings." If anythingm it is certain he would not have, for the very idea that the Logos could have become incarnate would have disgusted him.
Iasion complains that Jesus wrote nothing either, which is beside the point, which is that Remsberg misused him as a reference.
Iasion at this point as much as admits his inability to come up with reasons for people at this level to mention Jesus, appealing only to his "large number of works" as a reason.

Iasion, the younger brother, was apparently quite a ladies man. He attracted the attention of any number of the fair sex including Demeter, the daughter of Cronos and Rhea, who was herself no shrinking violet when it came to rolling in the hay with members of the opposite sex, including Zeus who fathered Persephone.
Iasion and Demeter had a torrid affair after which Iasion dumped Demeter and married and settled down with Cybele.
Iasion and Cybele hit it off at once, and, to Demeter's chagrin, they left the reception early to consummate their attraction in the woods.

Whenever the marriage of Demeter and Iasion is mentioned, the word tripolos is also mentioned (e.g.the Theogony 971), and Iasion is the husband of Demeter when she is strongly recognized as the Mother Goddess.
In order to examine this idea the study of the Anatolian and Egyptian religion is very helpful, in both of which the Mother Goddess being always accompanied by her young husband or a son who dies and rearises annually as a spirit of plants: for example, Dumuzi, Tammuz, Baal, Hadad and Horus.
But Iasion is a surprisingly inconspicuous figure, compared with the Anatolian and Egyptian young god, this intimating that this kind of Oriental religion was unacceptable to the Greeks.

Mythography | The Greek Goddess Demeter in Myth and Art
In addition to the myth of Demeter and her daughter Persephone in the Homeric Hymn to Demeter, another intriguing tale that involves the goddess of fertility is her affair with the mortal Iasion.
According to the version told by the poet Hesiod, Demeter and the hero "coupled with passion on a field plowed three times, in the rich soil of Crete." Apparently, this legendary liaison with Iasion was quite a fruitful one, for Demeter became pregnant and eventually bore her human lover a son named Plutus.
The goddess Demeter was known as Ceres in Roman mythology.

 Demeter (Ceres)
The central core of the legend of Demeter, whose significance was revealed only to initiates of the Eleusinian Mysteries, was supplemented over the course of time by various secondary myths, such as that of her rape by Poseidon.
Another legend relates that Demeter fell in love with Iasion and bore him a son called Plutus (Wealth).
All the myths, however contradictory, are in agreement that she had no husband and that Demeter bore her children outside the ties of marriage.
