Ibbur (Kabbalah) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ibbur (Hebrew: עיבור, "pregnancy" or "impregnation"), is one of the transmigration forms of the soul and has similarities with Gilgul neshamot.
Ibbur is always good or positive, while dybbuk is negative.
Ibbur is always temporary, and the living person may or may not know that it has taken place.

A soul is said to have come into ibbur (literally, pregnancy) when it enters, in a benign fashion, the body and soul of a person living here on earth.
Ibbur, however, can also help the discarnate soul who is in need of only one mitzvah (deed carried out to fulfill God's commandments) in order to round out a particular incarnation.
While the case of ibbur is an instance of benign possession, tradition has recorded many accounts of evil possession, known as dybbuk (literally, sticking).

IBBUR NESHOMA עיבוּר נשמה are always of good souls, who have been permitted by GOD and spirit world, to work with a someone whom can and will work together.
If a person has died by accident or tragically before marrying their soulmate, then their soulmate whom is alive is empty and void, is searching for their true soulmate and not finding, as their soulmate is in spirit world.
Such a blessing of IBBUR Neshoma עיבוּר נשמה of a Soulmate usually creates a much stronger union, love and connection that could ever be in any relationship as the energy of the man and the woman is bound strongly spiritually as well as physically.

Vital claimed, then, that because part of his own soul-structure was bound up with these individuals, the perfection of his soul was contingent upon the spiritual maturation of their souls.
In the case of `ibbur, the impregnated soul seeks to rectify itself by atoning for a past transgression or fulfilling a precept that has been left unfulfilled.
Unlikegilgul, in which the soul is present throughout one's entire life, `ibbur occurs for a temporary period of time, until the impregnated soul accomplishes its goal.

 Tikkun (Restoration)
The sculpture "Tikkun," (a kabbalistic trope implying restoration, renewal, and/or to repair or mend) is dedicated to the early Renaissance Safed kabbalist Isaac Luria (1534-1572) who was famed for being able to decode aspects of the soul's rebus by reading the Hebrew letters inscribed on an initiate's forehead.
Hayyim Vital and Joseph Caro, strong poets among his literary progeny, wrote that Luria's soul was "ibbur," pregnant with acts of unity longed for by the broken.
In this sculpture two hands reach out from the textured entry of a closed gate holding the Hebrew letters Tav and Nun (Tikkun) over Alef and Shin, longing to be restored, longing to be human.

That doctrine is the sod ha-ibbur, which is the Ramban's name for the transmigration of souls.
It is not the same as reincarnation, but rather that one soul arises from another ("ibbur" means "pregnancy"), and the Ramban here hints that the contaminating sin of a previous life needs to be cleansed from the soul in this one.
We are not going to discuss this esoteric doctrine of the Ramban's kabbala, but we see how it fits in to his framework.

Together with this came other details of our Jewish Luach (annual calendar), including Ibbur Shonim10 (proclaiming a Leap Year by inserting an additional month of Adar).
Thus our Luach was instituted on the basis of the Lunar year11 (twelve lunar months), coupled with an adjustment to the Solar year by the intercalation of an additional month after every two or three years,12 making that year a Jewish Leap Year (consisting of 13 months).
Hence it provides a particularly timely occasion to reflect21 an the significance of our Jewish Leap Year, which, like all Jewish matters, is, first of all, relevant to the state of Yiddishkeit, Torah and Mitzvos in our everyday life.

We shall better understand the principles involved if we bear in mind that the term "intercalation" is but a rather 'high falutin' rendition of the Hebrew Ibbur ha-Ĥodesh, which means literally "declaring the month to be pregnant".
In order to understand this issue we must introduce a little astronomic arithmetic to our discussions.
