Icarus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Icarus (sometimes spelled Ikarus in Europe), is a proper noun with a variety of meanings, most deriving from its use in Greek mythology:
Icarus (mythology), the son of Daedalus according to Greek mythology
Icarus (browser), a web browser developed by Adnan Osmani which won the 2003 BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition in Dublin, Ireland

After the school, buoyed by reassurances by Agent Pierce over the clearly accidental death, allowed Kevin to be taken away by the FBI, Laurie was one of the most upset, and went to skim stones on the Institute's lake.
Icarus found her, having already gathered the rest of the New Mutants - barring Sofia - with the news that the rest of the Hellions had gone to break Kevin out, and that Sofia went with them.
The charges against Kevin were dismissed, but, soured on the New Mutants, he swapped squads with Icarus (although he and Laurie remain friends - if strained by her crush on Josh) - while, unbeknownst to her, Josh and Rahne covertly resumed their relationship.

IGN: Icarus: Sanctuary of the Gods Review
Icarus: Sanctuary of the Gods, a new strategy/RPG from a small developer called KRGsoft is definitely NOT one of those games.
Icarus' combat system is actually not as bad as the rest of the game might lead you to believe.
Icarus could have been a pretty cool game if a little more effort had been taken in spell-checking the dialogue boxes, balancing the gameplay, and seeking to give the story at least the impression that it was interactive in some way.

AFTERLIFE is the story of Icarus, the oft-discussed but never seen Good Angel/Inclination that doubles as mortal man's "conscience" and his sudden fall from grace.
Penalized for a minor act of rebellion against the Executive Office, Icarus is ousted from Heaven and reassigned to the Afterlife Mailroom - offices currently located on the third level of Hell.

On the other hand, I don't agree with her assertion that OEL should not be racked with manga (or that manga shouldn't be racked with GNs.) That's segregationist talk to me.
Sure, manga has brought women to the comics table in a way that domestic releases have failed to achieve for the past few decades, but how much of the manga that has been released really fulfill that promise of depth and variety?
Then we wouldn't have publishers carelessly and awkwardly toss around the manga label onto everything just to shoehorn it into the prosperous manga shelf, rather than the barren GN wasteland.

While, I would admit that very few bands/artists are persuing music similar to The Icarus Line, it must be pointed out that they're not as original as they tend to want you or I to believe.
In a time when plenty of bands are updated versions of older bands or just jumping on current musical trends, it's refreshing to see a band harness their tastes.
Previously, The Icarus Line tended to excel more at speedy punk songs, but Penace Soiree toils in a mid tempo cesspool, exploring textures and space that was previously was either uncharted...

Also, they called Pit's world "Mount Icarus" (or "Mt. Olympus" in the comics) instead of "Angel Land" (though that may have been because of censorship of "religious" items.) Finally, Pit's voice wasn't too bad, but I didn't like how he added "-icus" to the end of everything.
The Eggplant Wizard was also a main villain in the Captain N cartoons and comics, and I liked his portrayal a lot more than I did Pit's.

Captain N was, as you might have surmised, a show about a regular kid from Northridge, California named Kevin who was pulled into a world called Videoland, a dimension based loosely on the original Nintendo Entertainment System.
It's kind of funny to think now, in the days when your game console can graphically represent a reasonable version of reality, but when Captain N aired, it was like watching the version of, say, Metroid's game world that you imagined might some day be possible.
As an interesting sidenote: according to the Internet Movie Database, the voice of Kid Icarus is none other than Alessandro Juliani, the actor who plays Lt. Gaeta on the new (and outstanding) remake of Battlestar Galactica.

Either way, like many exaggerated myths and fables, the reality of the Icarus Line is far less interesting.
Nevertheless, it's apparent that reports of the Icarus Line's bad attitude are often embellished -- if not egged on by PBR-fueled meatheads or fratmonkeys who would rather instigate a fight than listen to the band play its tunes.
