The Last Log of the Titanic : ET Research (2001) by David G. Brown - 31 January 2001
Iceberg damage to the starboard bow while turning to the left absolutely would have necessitated bumping and grinding of the ice along the ship's starboard side all the way to its stern.
Because the pivot point is not amidships but is offset toward the bow, the vessel's stern swings a larger arc than the bow.
The initial pattern of flooding and testimony from surviving crew members are consistent on one point: the bottom of the ship--not the side--made solid contact with the ice.

The Iceberg — Resurfaced? : ET Research (2001) by Henning Pfeifer - 9 July 2001
Obviously Rehorek did not sent the pictures with that iceberg floating in the background, nor the photograph showing the iceberg at closer quarters, as postcards because he did not think the iceberg depicted was the famous one that sank the Titanic.
The iceberg card shows the place where the ice was chipped away: on the photograph a severed edge is discernible exactly on the side scraped along by the Titanic.
The same is true of all the previously known photographs of icebergs taken in the vicinity of the scene of the tragedy.

Ecology.com - Largest Existing Iceberg Is Born
The iceberg, the largest currently known to exist, broke free from the Antarctic's Ross Ice Shelf around March 20 and is expected to bounce up against the main ice shelf for several days before drifting out to sea.
This iceberg, referred to as B-10 by the National Ice Center, is of the tabular variety as is the B-15 iceberg that recently broke off from the Ross Ice Shelf.
The calving of the iceberg essentially moves the northern boundary of the ice shelf about 25 miles to the south, a loss that would normally take the ice shelf as long as 50-100 years to replace.

Classic Tabular Iceberg Sheds From West Antarctic Glacier
The new iceberg detached from the glacier when a crack, which initially formed in mid-2000, spread rapidly until it reached the breaking point.
However, the iceberg detached much sooner than anticipated, and the last 10-kilometer segment that was still attached to the ice shelf snapped off in a matter of days.
The flow of the glacier, widening of the rift, and subsequent break-off of the iceberg are evident.
