		Iced Earth is currently working on their new album, which is due for release in 2007.
		Iced Earth's drumwork is often highlighted by frequent use of drags and flams on the bass drum, usually intended to complement Schaffer's rhythm guitar.
		Iced Earth lyrics tend to deal with theological issues such as punishment and sin, destiny, heaven and hell, the antichrist and the apocalypse.

		Iced Earth's first CD with former Judas Priest vocalist Tim "Ripper" Owens at the microphone not only lives up to its pre-release hype but surpasses it, delivering a rich, explosive listening experience that not only transcends the metal genre but brings to it an entirely new level of excellence.
		Hopefully, Iced Earth will record more than two CDs with Owens at the mike and, although the songwriting department is handled quite ably in Iced Earth by Jon Schaffer, hopefully Owens will get his licks in there as well.

		This is definitely one of my favorite Iced Earth albums, with the title track, Last December, and, of course, the over sixteen minute song, Dante's Inferno.
		It features songs from Enter the Realm, Iced Earth and Night of the Stormrider, but they are re-sung and on some tracks the guitar, bass and drums are also re-done.
		The upcoming Iced Earth album will be live, and it was recorded on January 23 and 24th in Athens, Greece.

		With Iced Earth headlining and CoB and Evergrey in direct support, the 2 bands did an AMAZING job warming the crowd; one would believe that IE could sustain that momentum for their 2-hour set.

		Their 1988 Enter the Realm demo was an underground favorite, and after changing their name to Iced Earth, the band recorded their eponymous 1990 album with a lineup consisting of guitarists Schaffer and Randall Sawver, singer Gene Adams, bassist Dave Abell, and drummer Mike McGill.
		Disheartened, Greely decided to call it quits, but Iced Earth would re-emerge three years later with 1995's Burnt Offerings, released on Century Media Records, and featuring vocalist Matthew Barlow and drummer Rodney Beasley.
		So happy was the band with their current lineup that they returned to the studio in 1997 to re-record the best of their early material with Barlow on vocals, resulting in the appropriately titled Days of Purgatory collection.
