	Metropolis Records: Icon of Coil
		Icon of Coil, VNV Nation and the rest of the crew continued up to Canada, down the east coast to Florida, through Texas to the West coast and Hollywood, where they did their 15th show in front of about 900 people at the Palace.
		IOC then performed at two more festivals: The Dark Jubilee Festival in London; and later as the Sunday-headliner for Synthpop Goes The World in Toronto, Canada, which turned out to be a very good but warm weekend and concert.
		Careful not to be outdone or forgotten, Icon of Coil released at the tail end of 2004 UploadedAndRemixed, which featured brand new mixes of songs from their first two records and two exclusive tracks at the tail end of 2004.

		Around that same time Tatra Records released the compilation Sex, Goth and Electronics, to which IOC contributed an exclusive version of their song "Repeat It".
		After the release of IOC's first full-length Serenity Is The Devil in November 2000, which reached number three on the DAC-chart, the band went to Germany together with Beborn Beton.
		During their tours, the band found the time to write material for their April 2002 sophomore album, The Soul Is In The Software, which stayed at number one on the DAC for a several weeks.

		Icon of Coil really struck me as a wanna-be with their first album, 'Serenity is the Devil', so naturally I didn't have high expectations when I popped in the `Soul Is In The Software' disc, but, my attitude was about to change.
		Icon of Coil trully manages to brige the gap between the two styles.
		Icon of Coil should be recognized as one of the best on the Metropolis label.

		Icon of Coil still moves through familiar future pop territory with mandatory fat base drums, driving rhythms and energetic techno melodies.

		The first full-length release from Norway’s Icon of Coil delivers on the standard set by their two previous releases (an EP and a single).
		In some ways, Serenity of the Devil is true to the EBM-pop formula to a fault, joining the ranks of Apoptygma Berzerk (circa 7) and Covenant, with an array of one-two beats, shallow bass lines overlaid with heavy textured beatpads and sweeps and thought-provoking lyrics delivered in a deadpan, unmusical voice sometimes filtered through effects.
		While there isn’t anything particularly innovative about Icon of Coil’s style right now, it should breathe new life into tired melodic EBM sets.
