Identity Crisis #7 Review >> Infuze Magazine   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-10)
As the miniseries progressed, more lives were lost by both heroes, villains, and their loved ones, and a dark chapter in Justice League history was brought to light.
DC's decision to bring on board successful novelist and self-professed comic book historian Meltzer was a masterstroke that's already redefining the comic book industry as a whole and lending the books themselves a whole new level of legitimacy.
Identity Crisis does everything that great stories should do, heightening and expanding its characters' lives with moving, intelligent prose that's as heartbreaking as it is heartwarming.

Peter Svensson - The Infinite Crisis FAQ - 0.5
A: Infinite Crisis is a 7 issue miniseries to be published this October by DC Comics.
There are four miniseries that spun out of Countdown to Infinite Crisis, each one focusing on an area of the DC Universe, and each one building up to Infinite Crisis.
The idea is that the title would cover the entire DC Universe over the course of the year, but focus on a group of characters who won't be appearing in any of the one year later titles, that way there's some suspense about what can happen to them.

Sci Fi Wire -- The News Service of the Sci Fi Channel
The DC Comics miniseries Identity Crisis has become a controversial best-seller due to its dark themes and angst-ridden superheroes, the Associated Press reported.
Identity Crisis explores the anguish of heroes such as Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman and the Flash following the death of innocent loved ones, and creates situations of moral ambiguity.
Regardless of the strong reactions, DC said that the events in the series will have an impact on the future storylines of all the characters.

Identity Crisis is a seven-issue comic book limited series published by DC Comics in 2004, written by Brad Meltzer and penciled by Rags Morales.
It was one of DC's top-selling series throughout its run, but attracted controversy for drastically retconning aspects of DC's Silver Age.
Previously, it was determined that in the post-Crisis DCU, only a handful of other heroes knew the secret identity of Batman and Superman (or in the case of Superman, that he had a secret identity at all).

 GamersCircle :: October :: 2004
The whole purpose of the miniseries is to put things back the way the old fans loved them: Hal Jordan as hero Green Lantern, not the vengeful Spectre or the villainous Parallax.
When Joe Kelly and Doug Mahnke came aboard, the artwork did carry with it a cinema-esque feel and the storylines were in-depth and interesting, but it didn't quite capture the quality of the previous runs and with Chuck Austen's forgettable run, the JLA had become unrecognisable from a few years ago.
With a story that is touted— along with Identity Crisis— as the most important event of 2004, with the return of a "beloved" character after years of poorly written stories, there is the fear that its going to be so overblown, so pompous that it would be unreadable.

tired of the mega spanning miniseries? - TFW2005 - The 2005 Boards
If DC wants to do another big event in '07 or '08, I'll probably read it, but Marvel would have to come up with something really, really impressive to get me interested.
Much as I liked them, Identity/Infinite Crisis were rushed in a number of spots, had plot points that didn't make sense (Alex Luthor just randomly losing his powers at the end, for example) and a multitude of dramatic contrivances.
Also, reading some of the review threads for Civil War #5, it sounds like the 'core' miniseries is almost incomprehensible without having read many/all of the tie-ins in other titles; IMO, the core should be able to stand on it's own (like Infinite Crisis).

Still, her true identity is unknown, and will remain so unless her origins are delved into in a future episode of Justice League Unlimited.
