Autistic savant - Article from FactBug.org - the fast Wikipedia mirror site
An autistic savant (more commonly known as an idiot savant) is a person who expresses extraordinary mental abilities, often in the fields of numerical calculation (not to be confused with mathematics) (see also mental calculator), art, or music but usually set within the context of autism or mental retardation.
When one has an extraordinary single skill in an otherwise unexceptional intellect, he or she may simply be described as a savant, without qualifier, although savant is usually meant to mean a person of learning, especially one of great knowledge in a particular subject, without remarking on the person's overall state of intellect.
Autistic savantism is usually recognised during childhood and is often but not always found in autistic children.

This is only the beginning, however, as "Spore" gives players the ability to actively determine every aspect of their creature's life through six stages of evolutionary history, which culminates in the exploration and colonization of space.
However, this seems to be of little concern, and given the reception this game has already received, it's pretty safe to say that "Spore" is poised to make a huge splash when it is released on PC in March 2007.
CryTek also had another good showing of its latest title, "Crysis." Published by EA and hailed by many as one of the best looking games on the horizon, this title has whipped gamers into a frenzy of anticipation at every one of its showings.
