  Junge Liberale: IFLRY
IFLRY ist ein Forum zur Zusammenarbeit und des Austausches von Ideen zwischen den Mitgliedsorganisationen und eine Organisation, die das Interesse und das Bewusstsein der internationalen Politik in den Mitgliedsorganisationen mittels der Organisation von Seminaren und politischen Delegationen fördert.
WFLRY wurde 1947 gegründet aber dann 1969 faktisch von EFLRY abgelöst. 1978 wurde dann WFLRY aufgelöst und ein Jahr später EFLRY in das heutige IFLRY umbenannt.
In den letzten Jahren ist IFLRY gewachsen und hat viele Organisationen aus den neuen Demokratien in Mittel- und Osteuropa, sowie auch in Lateinamerika und Afrika aufgenommen.

Currently the presidency of IFLRY is held by Jacob Rasmussen of Denmark.
The rest of the Bureau includes Bart Woord, Secretary General, and five vice-presidents: Frederik Ferié from Germany, Marc-André Gendron from Canada, Frosina Kostovska from Macedonia, Paola Silva from Colombia and Tafsir Thioye from Senegal.
The IFLRY Bureau consists of a President, a Secretary General and three to five Vice-Presidents.

 Initiative of South East European Liberals
IFLRY and ISEEL Bureaux call on the government of Albania to seriously reconsider the ICC exemption agreement signed with the United States.
IFLRY believes that “ICC Rome Statute guarantees the judicial independence of the Court” and that “impunity for crimes such as acts of aggression, crimes against peace, genocide, other crimes against humanity and war crimes is unacceptable”.
IFLRY and ISEEL reaffirm the policy presented in IFLRY Resolution on the Importance of the ICC adopted one month ago and we call on all states not to undertake any actions (such as bilateral agreements) that aim to dilute the jurisdiction of the ICC.

IFLRY and its member organisations based in ASEM countries have in the past been represented at ASEF’s programmes conducted under ASEF’s Asia-Europe Youth Co-operation framework.

From IFLRY side we were represented with Paola and myself from the bureau, as well as Roger Albinyana from Catalonia, president of LYMEC.
For IFLRY, this was especially thrilling, as we have been putting the issue of Cuba as one of our main priorities in the recent years.

IFLRY's Secretariat, situated in Brussels, is in the heart of the Federation.
Working for IFLRY means that one will deal with a lot of people: representatives from member organisations, Bureau members, representatives from other international organisations and many, many others.
Organising IFLRY's activities (seminars, delegations, executive committee, general assembly, bureau meetings) and especially the administrative and technical parts of those activities, partly in cooperation with the Bureau.

Usually the younger people are more open, full of ideas and energy, willing to prove themselves in front of the others and sometimes less compromising in realizing their ideas and tasks.
This is also a very important point since IFLRY as an International NGO participates in the international and European youth structures where it deserves a decent representation.
I'll use the regular phrase that I'll do my best in the IFLRY work, but the time flies through so fast that you'll be still remembering this text when that estimation of my work will be on the agenda of the IFLRY General Assembly in 1999.
