Ignacio Lasso ( 1911 - 1943) was an Ecuadorian poet born in Quito.
He was the mentor and founder of the magazine of the poets of Elan, a group integrated by Ecuadorian poets born between 1905 and 1920.
Benjamin Carrión said of Lasso in 1937: "In spite of his brave incursions of high poetic value, Lasso is a poet with an American mind and European sensitivity.

San Juan Basin Health Department’s Lasso Tobacco Coalition has been awarded funding from the Colorado Department of Health and Environment and is now working under a five-year comprehensive plan to prevent and reduce tobacco use among La Plata, Archuleta and San Juan county community members.
The Lasso Tobacco Coalition Evaluation Overview Committee is headed by Lauren Elder Patterson, San Juan Basin Health Department’s evaluation consultant.
Her group will provide periodic reports about the progress made toward preventing the start of tobacco use among youths, promoting cessation among youths and adults, and building capacity for effective tobacco prevention and control in the community.
