	Ignition - Offspring - Review - Early Maturity
		Their second album ‘Ignition’ is probably the most overlooked and unappreciated of the Offspring’s albums and, although it took me quite a long while to appreciate, it’s now an album I listen to again and again.
		There is little similarity between this album and the band’s excellent successor albums ‘Smash’ and ‘Ixnay on the Hombre’: the humorous undertones are barely visible as this deals with more serious subject matter in a more mature style than the now-aging band have ever reproduced since.
		This album is proof (among other examples) that the Offspring should not be classed merely as ‘skater punk’ for the younger generation: the messages here are clear and intelligent, while the music shares more similarity with underground punk of the eighties to the pop-influenced punk of bands such as Blink 182 and Green Day.

		Josh and Kevin have a solid bond and on the second album have changed one of the main points of criticism levelled at them after the release of the debut - the song writing.
		It has made the album's 'journey' a little less predictable and lets the guys show more of what they are capable of.
		This album is superior to the first Two Fires album and the songs are fuller and very good.

		This song in particular had to argue its case to stay on the album because it was in many ways dependant on Mystic (it was improvised entirely off of the three-minute-plus stretch of ambience that trailed off of the end of Mystic), and I didn't want any co-dependant songs on the record.
		The entire album was actually recorded by playing a line, then memorizing its rhythm, and recording the next track as best as I could without the aid of a cue or metronome.

		When i first heard this album, i really didn't like it because i was so used to the sounds of Conspiracy of One and Americana so i didn't listen to it for a while.
		This album is definitely more heavy going than their more recent releases and really makes Splinter sound a bit of a joke to be honest (not a fan).
		this album came out two years before the now infamous smash,but this is actually on a par with smash.great catchy tracks like "we are one,hypodermic and burn it up" have you hooked in no time.these were better days for offspring and their fans..

		Lyrics are pretty average throughout this album, and nowhere near the standards of the first album (check out the lyrics on "Demons" off the first album).
		Hypodermic - A very unpopular track on the album by many, with poor lyrics, and repetitive-as-heck riffage over and over, while the end goes on forever, but the song does have an air of fun at the end (very much like Americana), which is kind of cool, but that's all.
		The track title doesn't make any sense, and very much like the majority of this album, it's a very hollow track that the first album did not have a problem with, since it was very erratic and fuller sounding, despite sound quality.

		The title track is a great way to start off an album, and it only gets better from there, with tracks ranging from the wistful (the album's lyrical standout, "'59") to the scornful ("Get 'Em on the Ropes").
		On the whole, the album is a bit of a departure from Setzer's "Jump, Jive and Wail" days, but the change is not bad.
		The song is great, the album is fantastic, and its a must-have for all fans of Setzer or swing/rockabilly in general.
