She is well-known for her scorching performances with The Ike and Tina Turner Revue during the 1960s and 1970s, and best known for her remarkable solo comeback in the mid-1980s.
In September 2005, it was announced that Turner would be one of the recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors, which host their awards at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC every December.

The highlights are probably "Acid Queen" (with Tina wearing a great outfit that proves she has the best body in rock and roll, if not the world), "Get Back", "Proud Mary" and a really great version of "Honky Tonk Woman".
As always, Tina really cuts loose on stage with a result that makes your jaw drop, but the Ikettes are also espcially impressive, especially during the latter number.
The Ike and Tina Turner Review was an amazing ensemble, but this video does not do them justice.

Tina dances her tail feathers off the entire show and still blows the roof off the sucker throughout the entire set with arguably the best voice in rock 'n' roll.
And of course, it wouldn't be Ike & Tina without their patented "nice and easy/nice and rough" version of CCR's "Proud Mary." The concert ends with Ike showcasing his guitar skills during "I Smell Trouble" that includes some vocal/guitar trade-offs between he and Tina.
