Ikeda continued, saying that at no other time in history has the world been in such dire need of an all-encompassing perspective, with universal understanding that all people, regardless of nationality and race, are part of one global family.
Ikeda also touched upon "the possibility of intelligent life forms existing in other parts of the cosmos," "the power of creation of the cosmos," and "scientists in the former USSR during the Stalinist era." Professor Serebrov was awarded the "Ushio Cultural Medal" during the meeting.
Ikeda's message to youth, in which he emphasized that the decision to create a peaceful world is in the people's hands.

Born in Gifu, Japan in 1966, Ryoji Ikeda is one of the most important Minimalist artists in computer based and digital electronic music.
Ikeda released his first reference on the CCI label in 1995 and since then started a series of numerous exhibitions and sound instalations.
His work -usually conceptual- is focused towards the use of the tones (sub-basses and ultrasounds) combined with rhythmic elements from radio frequencies and samples.

In 1590, following the transfer of Tokugawa Ieyasu to the Kanto, Terumasa was established at Yoshida in Mikawa, a 152,000 koku fief.
When the Sekigahara Campaign began in the fall of 1600, Terumasa immediately sided with Tokugawa; on 28 September he competed with Fukushima Masanori to be the first to attack Gifu, held by Oda Hidenobu.
At the Battle of Sekigahara Ikeda commanded 4,500 troops in the rear guard and saw some desultory fighting with Chosokabe Morichika’s contingent as the battle wound down.

Following Nobunaga’s death in June 1582, Nobuteru hastened to join Hashiba [Toyotomi] Hideyoshi and fought at Yamazaki; he then became one of the four men responsible for governing Kyôto (alongside Hideyoshi, Shibata Katsuie, and Niwa Nagahide).
Nobuteru supported Hideyoshi in the resulting power struggle that culminated in the defeat of Shibata Katsuie (1583), and was given Ôgaki Castle in Mino; his two eldest sons (Yukisuke and Terumasa) held Gifu and Ikejiri respectively.
In 1584 the Ikeda house joined Hideyoshi’s campaign against Tokugawa Ieyasu and was dispatched (along with Nobuteru’s son-in-law Mori Nagayoshi) on an end-run into Mikawa; they were attacked at Nagakute by Tokugawa troops and in the course of the fighting a certain Nagai Denpachiro ran Nobuteru through with a spear.
