 Thomas Shonka
The youngest of six children, he attended Illinois Benedictine College, where his primary interest was playing on and eventually captaining the NCAA Division hockey team.
During his time he also played Junior B hockey in Chicago, where, as the only player on the team in school, he was mentored by the coach- a young man from Toronto attending Podiatry school in Chicago.
From this fortunate meeting, Dr. Shonka developed an interest in and eventually attended the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine, 1974-1978.
