		Angel assures him he will not leave Gunn in the hell dimension but in the meantime they need to focus on Illyria and discover more about her, as they are unsure of her strength they decide Spike should have the task.
		Angel tells him he is a human with special abilities and Connor acknowledges that Angel is a vampire; he seems unfazed by the new knowledge but is worried about how he will explain to his parents.
		Illyria notes that Connor is attracted to her, which he denies, blaming it on her outfit before confessing he has always had a thing for older women.

		Angel is metaphorically a king, trying to protect his whole kingdom--the earth and all good creatures that live in it, alive and undead.
		Illyria, trying to hold onto and use the ancient power that defines her as a demon god, once ruler of all there was, is being destroyed by that same power.
		I have to conclude that Illyria could have continued on her plan of conquest, which would have meant opposition to the Senior Partners (“destroy everything that is not utterly yours”) for quite some time before the mismatch between her power and her human frame effected her destruction.

		Angel the Series was never about the outcome of the fight, and that's why the ending was just so emotionally satisfying for me. It was about being there, in the fight.
		Angel and the Shanshu prohpecy: this goes back to the first and second seasons-- the only way that Angel can put his all into the good fight and working towards his redemption and not doing good in order to accumulate enough points to get the "ral boy" prize at the end.
		And Angel, this episode destroyed any claims that Spike took over the show this year, this was Angel's series, he was in charge, he doesn't need to have the most screen time, this is his show, and this episode showed it.
