  Imagawa Yoshimoto
Imagawa Yoshimoto was the daimyô of Suruga and Tôtomi and, later, Mikawa Provinces until 1560.
Yoshimoto himself was said to have had the habit of shaving his eyebrows and flening his teeth in the manner of a Kyoto noble; one of his wives was of noble blood and is said to have assisted him in this area.
Yoshimoto composed the Imagawa kana mokuroku tsuika (expanding on house rules left by Ujichika) in 1553.

A capable leader, he spent much time campaigning in Tôtômi and Mikawa, strengthening the position of the Imagawa on the Tokai Coast.
Ujichika is remembered for sending three of his six sons to various temples to become monks and for building Nagoya Castle in Owari in 1525 - both of which were considered somewhat unusual - the latter because the Imagawa had only the most tenuous of holds over Owari Province.
He composed the Imagawa house code, the Imagawa Kana Mokuroku, in 1526.

Imagawa Yoshimoto (今川義元, 1519-1560) was one of the leading daimyo (feudal lords) in Suruga Province along the Tōkaidō road, Japan.
However, Yoshimoto was killed by a surprise attack by Oda Nobunaga at the Battle of Okehazama.
Both games depict Imagawa as a childish dandy, although Samurai Warriors takes this to an extreme by giving him a kemari (a Japanese kickball), which he uses as a weapon (though he used a sword in the original Samurai Warriors game).

 Oda Nobunaga: A Representative of His Times
When Imagawa sacked a castle at near-by Marune in Owari, Nobunaga's home province, word got back to Nobunaga that Imagawa would soon be at his doorstep.
Nobunaga and his troops came upon Imagawa and his legions camped at a gorge outside of the town of Okehazama, where they were celebrating and admiring the trophies (meaning: heads) they'd taken in Owari.
