It is difficult to imagine that film in different hands because Robert Altman seemed to be tailor made to direct it.
I can't imagine this film as a standard comedy.
I don't want to imagine MASH (or any of Altman's other films) with studio tinkering.

 Minority Report
As you can imagine, there's plenty of room for special effects, most of which are stunning and really give the film that something extra.
I'm often critical of films that rely too heavily on the effects, but Minority Report has a superior and intelligent plot to match.
Unless you're after something deep and involving or a story that's emotionally rewarding then Minority Report could be the film for you.

Patton (film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Patton is a 1970 biographical film which tells the story of General George Patton's commands during World War II.
However, the U.S. tanks in the film resemble M-26 "Pershing" tanks of the mid-to-late 1940's, but also resemble ironically the M-47 "Patton" of the 1950's.
The film also showed some of Patton's more controversial actions during the Second World War years.

Crush fetish - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
One could even draw the conclusion that the crushing desire may be linked to the fetishist having messily broken up with or divorced someone, thus causing them to imagine the object as their "ex" and thus perceive the crush as a psychological retribution against the significant other who betrayed them.
Male crush fetishists often imagine themselves as being tiny under a woman's feet, or being normal size, but being crushed by a giantess.
Crush fetishists (who chiefly are heterosexual males) often prefer to see crushing by high-heeled shoes although the desired footwear varies for each fetishist.

 Rocknerd Downfall
The most chilling aspect of the film relates to the True Believers closest to him, the people who could not imagine a world in which Nazism wasn't the triumphant ideology and where the Fuhrer was powerless to prevent their destruction.
Still, it's a major film achievement, and I suspect there are hundreds of thousands of students in schools that will be watching this film from now until the Fourth Reich begins as part of their history classes, because this is a quality film that any underpaid teacher would be happy to inflict upon their kids.
A film that successfully captures and gets across the surreal atmosphere of Berlin towards the end of the war has to be vital viewing for those with the time, patience and inclination.

Gary Westfahl's Bio-Encyclopedia of Science Fiction Film: The Beatles
The only Lennon film that occasionally surfaces, his documentary about the making of the album Imagine, had a few visually striking touches, like the sequence of John singing “Imagine” while Yoko opens all the windows in a vast room, gradually brightening the environment.
Films based on their works: The Beatles (animated tv series) (1964-66); The Rutles (and Harrison appeared in) (tv movie) (Gary Weiss and Eric Idle 1978); Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Michael Schultz 1978); Beatlemania (Joe Manduke 1981).
However, in the 1980s, he was unfortunately inspired to write and score an autobiographical film, the slightly surreal but tedious Give My Regards to Broad Street, which remains the only rock'n'roll film to suggest that the typical life of a musical superstar is really, really boring.

 2003 Berlin Film Festival - A Report
I can't imagine anyone actually wanting to buy a ticket to see this film, but I haven't been able to get it out of my head and I don't imagine I ever will.
The Berlin Film Festival has always struggled with an inferiority complex in regard to its better-known rival, Cannes, which for starters takes place on the Riviera in May and not amid the frozen reaches of northern Germany in February.
Another Italian film called Pater Familias (Francesco Patierno, 2002) (part of the second, and biggest, section of the Festival, the Panorama), a tale of revenge and blighted lives set in the rough neighborhoods of Naples, sported the real Neapolitan dialect, but was marred by an overblown score that worked against the film's otherwise powerful themes.

 Duck and Cover (1951)
Watching it today it's hard to imagine that the US government could have made it as a serious training film, or that American teachers could have shown it to their kids with a straight face.
More seriously, I imagine that when they first began planning the movie they were probably still in the A-bomb era where it might have made a difference: the damage from such a bomb was fairly localised so a single bomb in a major city would kill only a small fraction of the population...
Truly one of the most mind-bogglingly surreal movies I've ever seen, teaching kids that all they need to do to survive a nuclear war is duck down and cover their heads; and quite rightly satirised in the 'South Park' TV show.

Granted -- I liked looking at the cheerleaders, and they were a momentary reprieve from the pathetic action taking place elsewhere in the film, but imagine how desperate the director must have been for something, anything, to distract attention from the inanity of the material.
The cheerleaders play such a big part in the movie that I wound up amusing myself by trying to imagine the conversation that the filmmakers must have had.

Good films inspire the audience to imagine back-stories for its characters.
Bad films inspire the audience to imagine back-stories about its creators.

2046 (film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Similarly, Wong Kar-wai uses his previous personal experiences, already portrayed in his earlier movies, to imagine "2046", a film that houses his trademark sentimentalism, allowing his very self to push ahead into his realm of imagination.
It finally premiered during the 2004 Cannes Film Festival as a competitive film (the reels arrived straight from the laboratory causing a delay in the schedule), yet Wong pulled the film off after the premiere to continue editing it.
In April 2004, the film was nominated for the Golden Palm at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival, later receiving mixed reviews (Although the version of the film that was submitted to Cannes was a work in progress, Wong was still editing the film the night before the premiere).

In this way, Caligula is the most unsexy film you can imagine.
The fact that Gucionne finanaced the films with cold hard cash, is reminiscent of the scene in Caligula where Caligula (Malcom McDowell) bribes the Praetorian Gaurd to arrest and assassignate their finest leaders and members.
Another reason I thought Caligula would be truly amusing was that I read that after principal photography (if you can call the overwhelming amount of crotch cam, photography) was completed, the film's producer, Penthouse publisher, Bob Gucionne, was unhappy so he decided to try to save it in editing.
