  NationMaster - Encyclopedia: Immediate Records
Immediate Records was a British record label, started in 1965 by Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham, concentrating on the London based British blues scene.
What immediately preceded its institution, as it was born in Judaism, concerns the Jewish race alone, and is comprised in the teaching and miracles of Christ, His death and resurrection, and the mission of the Holy Spirit.
But those theories which ignore Catholic tradition and supernatural guidance, and rest on the written records alone, are gradually being abandoned, helped to their disappearance by the critics themselves, who have little respect for each others' hypotheses.

The Nice - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Keith Emerson, a keyboardist, formed the group and released their debut, The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack to immediate acclaim; this is often considered the first progressive rock album.
The single concludes with a child speaking the lines "America is pregnant with promise and anticipation, but is murdered by the hand of the inevitable." The new arrangement was released under the title "America (Second Amendment)" as a pointed reference to the U.S. Bill of Rights provision for the bearing of arms.
Due to Immediate Records dissolution in 1970, the recordings of the Nice (along with other artists on the Immediate label) were leased out to many record companies, resulting in a high number of compilation albums (many of which are not listed here) with different packaging, but similar track listings.

Immediate Records - Label Profile - Stylus Magazine
From 1965 until it was dissolved in 1970 Immediate was the home of late sixties luminaries such as the Small Faces, The Nice, Billy Nicholls, Chris Farlowe, P.P. Arnold, The McCoys, John Mayall, and Humble Pie to name just a few.
Immediate Records was founded in 1965 by Rolling Stones manager/producer/self proclaimed "Godfather of Hype" Andrew Loog Oldham and his partner in crime, Tony Calder.
Immediate never had a specific "sound", the closest description that I can think of off hand is "The Sound of Swinging London: 1965-1970"; Mod-pop, straightforward pop, blues rock, straightforward rock, soul, folk, psychedelia, prog rock...pretty much everything and the kitchen sink.

Immediate's history with unestablished artists is mostly a story of talent cultivated for future success, but with Farlowe it was different -- he actually became a star on the label, through the label.
The subsequent single releases on Immediate, including his version of the Stones' "Ride on Baby," failed to match the success of the first two singles, and he last charted for Immediate with "Handbags and Gladrags," written for him by Manfred Mann's Mike d'Abo.
Farlowe was rescued from oblivion by his better-known contemporary (and fellow Immediate Records alumnus) Jimmy Page, appearing on the latter's Outrider album in the 1980s, which heralded a BBC appearance that brought him back to center stage in the public consciousness for the first time in two decades.

Oldham had started his own label, Immediate Records, which was so far devoted to a few licensed American masters, the work of promising neophytes, and a few unwitting contributions by star guitarists -- including Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck -- who thought they were cutting demos and jamming with producer/guitarist Jimmy Page.
Their relationship with Immediate was further strained when, over the objections of Marriott, the label released the song "Lazy Sunday" -- which he'd recorded as a joke -- as a single.

The resulting album, Give Me Take You, was one of the jewels of the Immediate Records catalog, a quietly dazzling work that embraced elements of folk, rock, pop, and classical, all wrapped around some surprisingly well-crafted poetry and Browne's stunning voice.
It resurfaced briefly in the mid-'70s on the Canadian-based Daffodil label and then disappeared until the early '90s; for years, as with most of the Immediate library, the master tapes to Browne's work were missing, lost in storage in some forgotten vault.
Neither did well enough to justify more recording at the time, and Browne spent the next several years as a session musician, working on a pair of albums by Colin Blunstone and one album by Tom Yates.
