Imo State in Nigeria came into existence in 1976 along with other new states created under the leadership of the late military ruler of Nigeria, Murtala Muhammad.
Imo is a predominantly Igbo speaking state and constitutes the heart of Igboland.
The state is rich in oil and was home to the oldest African King in modern times, HRH Eze Patrick Acholonu, Igwe X of Orlu a region in Imo State.

Imo State needs to get better and the first real step is to expose the bankruptcy of the small clique that currently misgoverns it and prepare the people for a life of commitment, dedication and sacrifice that would be necessary to recover the state to a prime and enviable place in the scheme of affairs.
