In Melbourne Tonight, otherwise known as "IMT", was a variety and interview television show produced at GTV-9 Melbourne from 1957 to 1970.
IMT had as many as 50 different presenters over its 13 years on air.
In 1970, after Kennedy had resigned from GTV-9, IMT continued with four hosts, each on a different night of the week: Jimmy Hannan, Ugly Dave Gray, Bert Newton and Stuart Wagstaff.

Graham Kennedy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
When television came to Melbourne in 1957, Kennedy was chosen to present an evening show, In Melbourne Tonight (or IMT), for GTV-9 beginning on 6 May 1957.
On IMT he was working with a talented on-camera team that included Joff Ellen, Rosie Sturgess, Mary Hardy (the sister of celebrated author Frank Hardy) and Bert Newton.
Kennedy finally quit IMT on December 23, 1969, exhausted, and retired from TV for two years; in spite of his fame and fortune, he later described the period as "years of misery".

Graham Kennedy - The Memorable TV Hall of Fame
He was the king of comedy, the recognised successor to Australia's previous comic king and lord of misrule, Roy Rene (Mo), whose stage had been vaudeville and radio from the 1920s to the late 1940s.
With In Melbourne Tonight Kennedy brought to and adapted for television Australia's rich history of very risqué music hall, vaudeville, and variety.
In Melbourne Tonight included musical acts, game segments, burlesques of ads, and sketches, including "The Wilsons." In this segment, perhaps reminiscent of The Honeymooners skit on early 1950s American television, Graham played a dirty old man, married to his Joyce, carnivalising marriage as comic disaster.

MILESAGO - Profiles - Graham Kennedy
His long-running variety show, In Melbourne Tonight (IMT) was one of the highest-rating programs in the history of the industry and was compulsory viewing for a generation of Australians.
It was based on the American 'Tonight Show' format, with the host presiding over sketches, introducing star turns and reading advertisements live, although it differed from the American model in that Kennedy did not conduct celebrity interviews, which are the stock-in-trade of the U.S. format.
His schedule was punishing -- IMT aired five nights a week and concurrently, for several years in the early Sixties, he and Bert Newton also hosted the morning shift on Melbourne station 3AK, which had recently been purchased by GTV-9.
