The over-arching issue explored in "Scout's Honor" is the Boy Scouts of America policy of excluding openly gay members.
Even as the film exposes the contradiction and hypocrisy between the stated values of the Scouts and its anti-gay policy, it still celebrates the idea of scouting and the incredible role it plays in life in the United States, where one out of every five boys nationwide is a Boy Scout.

Thousands of Women Killed for Family "Honor"
Hundreds, if not thousands, of women are murdered by their families each year in the name of family "honor." It's difficult to get precise numbers on the phenomenon of honor killing; the murders frequently go unreported, the perpetrators unpunished, and the concept of family honor justifies the act in the eyes of some societies.
Most honor killings occur in countries where the concept of women as a vessel of the family reputation predominates, said Marsha Freemen, director of International Women's Rights Action Watch at the Hubert Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.
But while honor killings have elicited considerable attention and outrage, human rights activists argue that they should be regarded as part of a much larger problem of violence against women.

In Your Honor - Foo Fighters, Music Downloads - Online
Review: Although it was as big a commercial success as Foo Fighters' three previous albums, 2002's One by One seemed flat and tired, as if their leader, Dave Grohl, had reached a songwriting slump or as if the band had exhausted its possibilities.
The time was ripe for a reinvention, or at least a risk, and the group responded accordingly with In Your Honor, a double album containing one disc of hard rock and one disc of acoustic material.
Which means that In Your Honor pulls off a neat trick: by stretching out, Foo Fighters not only have expanded their sound, but they've found the core of why their music works, so they now have better songs and deliver them more effectively.

HONOR SYSTEM   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-17)
That important tradition endured until after World War II and was re-established in 1992, when the college community voted to adopt a new Lyon College Honor System, reaffirming the institution's commitment to the highest standards of honor.
The system is based upon the belief that Lyon College undergraduates are mature individuals, capable of acting honorably in all academic matters without faculty surveillance, and that they should be encouraged to take responsibility for their own conduct as individuals and as a community.
By signing the Lyon College Roll of Honor upon matriculation, students commit themselves to the ideals embodied in the Honor System -- integrity, responsibility, and a regard for others -- and recognize their own responsibility to assist in maintaining an environment in which only honorable conduct is considered acceptable.

I countered by writing to Hincker that, according to that quote, the decision to appoint a substitute requires the consent of both the faculty advisor and chief justice, and that the previous chief justice never gave his consent for Beringer to be appointed as his replacement.
Secondly, six of the eight student justices never consented to the method in which she was selected, with many of these student justices calling the decision to appoint her to Chief Justice as unconstitutional.
This is scary, because everyday the Undergraduate Honor System continues to operate legitimizes a precedent which will give the faculty advisor and the Office of the Provost the power to appoint whoever they want to whatever position they want, without the consent of students.
