While normally a tightly-written show, Heat of the Night did one ep about a drunk driver and suddenly EVERYONE is spouting statistics about DUI's and such.
I've watched a few re-runs of In the Heat of the Night on WGN and TNT and it's hard to believe just how bad this show is. All kinds of shark jumping going on.
I did not start to watch in the heat of the night until the last year so there are still some episodes that i have not seen but from what i can tell the show jumped the shark the second year it was on CBS.
