BOHOL officials Saturday trooped to the Cebu Provincial Police Office to claim two priceless icons recently seized by police from an exporter of antique church items.
Councilor Agapito Torentira of Inabanga town said he hurriedly left for Cebu City after seeing a television report of the police operation that netted several icons believed to be stolen from churches.
Torentira and another Bohol official, Cambitoon barangay captain Emiliano Divino, identified two of the recovered items as the statues of San Vicente Ferrer and San Roque, which were stolen from San Isidro church in Inabanga, Bohol on March 5 last year.
