| | Independence Day |
 | | You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. |
 | | Independence Days are pretty rare in Europe generally, unless you count things like the Queen's Birthday and St Patrick's day. |
 | | I didn't mean that all of those were on the same day, just that people from all over feel pride in, and celebrate, their independence (from whomever) and the birth of their nation. |
