Yes it was there this morning on Blarney (Louie skiing it in above photo), the peak just north of Independence Pass, Colorado.
The highest part of the Elks is that in the area of Castle Peak, a Colorado fourteener that rises above a permanent snowfield known as Montezuma Glacier.
This one is the view of Colorado fourteeners South (left) and North Maroon Peaks from Pyramid Peak.

 Central Colorado CD Hike
Since we were very hungry from such a small, foul tasting breakfast, we stopped on a small peak (13,201') just before the ridge turns from south to west to have an early lunch (10:35-11:15).
We then hiked cross-country along the CD to the top of Glacier Peak (12,853').
After we passed over the 12,624' peak, we came to a fork in the road and followed the southwest road above the Middle Fork Swan River.

East of the pass, CO82 descends with the North Fork of Lake Creek along the southern flank of Mt. Elbert (14,433'), the highest peak in Colorado.
Independence Pass: From Aspen, scenic CO82 took us first south and then east up the Roaring Fork River to Independence Pass (at 12,095', one of the highest in the US), where it crosses the crest of the towering Sawatch Range along a weakened fault zone.

 Rock Climbing: RMNP/Alpine: Grizzly Peak
The 13,988' Grizzly Peak in the Sawatch Range near Independence Pass is surprisingly rugged for the Sawatch, and has one of the best moderate snow couloirs in the state.
There is a lot of steep rock on this peak as well, but it is probably all very crumbly.
Park just past the Grizzly Reservoir at the marked Grizzly Lake trailhead after 6-7 miles.
