Based on the recommendations of a group of ministers, the Cabinet conceded several key demands of the employees, including protection of their pension benefits and payment of pension by the government even after the employees are absorbed into the corporation.
Arrangements will be worked out for obtaining pension contribution from the public sector undertaking to be deposited with the government, and the existing group provident fund (GPF) amount of the employees would be transferred to their new GPF accounts to be operated by the corporation.
