INDIAN RIVER COUNTY -- Florida’s ‘green’ budget signed a month ago by Governor Jeb Bush included more than $42 million to expand and improve local parks across the state — a 100 percent increase from 2004.
Funded through the Department of Environmental Protection’s Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program, $312,500 will go to Indian River County to renovate two local parks and enhance nearby communities by increasing outdoor recreation and improving public access to natural Florida.
“Florida’s environment should be preserved for the enjoyment of its residents and visitors,” said Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Colleen M. Castille.
