In the 2000 census, the Indian River County population was 109,579.
This county uses the DDIS system, which eliminated the cost of sending at least 15 samples to the University for analysis and saved homeowners and landscapers $300 in laboratory fees; use of this system has decreased diagnosis time by 75% and provides for a permanent record of samples for use by clientele and Extension Service.
To supplement the diagnostic abilities of the agents and volunteers, 190 County and UF diagnostic tests were performed on behalf of county residents in FY2001.
