		Posted - 4/6/2005 8:22:00 PM i stole this from another forum It's a common joke comparing the cultural mood in BC to the fabled Land of the Lotus Eaters, where everyone ate lotus petals which kept them sedated, blissful, and completely divorced from reality.
		You could think of it as referring to the easy availability of high-quality drugs, but I always assumed the deeper analogy was to the so-called flaky new-age culture that is prevalent out here.
