Agriculture, the second leading source of pollution to Pennsylvania's rivers and streams, is also contributing to the degradation of the Chesapeake Bay's famed shellfish and fish stocks through Pennsylvania's tributaries.
Pennsylvania has agreed with other states in the Chesapeake Bay watershed to reduce the levels of nitrogen and phosphorus entering the Susquehanna River (which is the largest tributary to the Chesapeake Bay) by 40 percent by the year 2000.
So far, Codorus Township in York County has ordinances in place, and Wayne Township in Mifflin County and Swatara Township in Lebanon County are in the process of drawing up their ordinances.

Evidence of their time spent in Westchester Township can be seen in the numerous hunting and farming implements that have been found in the area, including projectile points, scrapers, grinding stones and other tools.
This exhibit highlights the contributions of the Prairie Club to the preservation of the Indiana Dunes area and includes a number of fascinating items such as an original program from the 1917 pageant, hiking skirt, cap and bathing suit belonging to club members, and original photographs taken at the Dunes.
Prairie Club sold its land to the state of Indiana in 1926 and by 1932 all the Club's tents and cottages were gone, except its Beach House which remained until the early 1970's.

 White, Indiana County, Pennsylvania
White Township, named for Judge Thomas White, was organized in 1843 and is composed of parts of Centre, Washington, Green and Armstrong Townships.
The Indiana Recreation and Parks Commission was created in the late 1960's by a cooperative agreement between White Township, Indiana Borough and the Indiana Area School District.
White Township is one of the few municipalities in the state that does not impose a tax on real estate.

The Hampton Township Municipal Authority provides public water service to Hampton Township and portions of Indiana, Richland, O’Hara, and West Deer Townships.
The Authority is empowered to acquire, hold, construct, improve, maintain and operate water works, water supply works and water distribution systems, and to borrow money, to make and issue negotiable bonds and to secure the payment of such bonds by pledging any or all of its receipts.
The Authority’s interconnections with Shaler water are located on Felicity Avenue and Mt. Royal Boulevard at the Hampton Township line, on Mary Ann Drive and Middlecrest Drive at the Indiana Township line and Keystone Avenue at the O’Hara Township line.

Located on the Southwestern edge of the Susquehanna River Basin, Cush Creek was once designated one of Indiana County's Class A wild trout waters.
A special thanks also goes out to Montgomery Township who provided workers and a truck to remove the trash and to Waste Management who donated landfill space for this cleanup.
Funding for this project was provided through a mini grant from the Susquehanna River Basin Commission whose mission is to enhance public welfare through comprehensive planning, water supply allocation, and management of the water resources of the Susquehanna River Basin.

 Ghost Town Trail - Indiana County Parks
In 1993 the Cambria and Indiana Railroad donated an additional 4 miles from Rexis to White Mill Station known as the Rexis Branch.
In 2005 an additional 20 miles were added to the trail - 12 miles in Indiana County and 8 miles in Cambria County.
Portions of the trail in both Indiana and Cambria County are located adjacent to PA State Gamelands.

Mitchell, Philadelphia; Harry and J.O. Clark, Glen Campbell; E.H. Ellsworth, Superintendent Arcadia Coal Company; and M.C. Watson, Indiana.
