INDIANAPOLIS - Three more Olympic gymnastics veterans have been added to the roster of male athletes who will showcase their talents at the 1999 Reese's Gymnastics Cup, scheduled for Jan. 16 at the Wells Fargo Arena on the campus of Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz.
A 1996 Olympian, he helped the USA to a fifth-place team finish in Atlanta, the best showing by the men since the gold medal won at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
Based in Indianapolis, USA Gymnastics is the national governing body for gymnastics in the United States.

A neck injury forced Porter, 42, off the track for 11 years, but the 1988 Olympian recovered and set a world record in the 2003 Masters Championships at her alma mater, the University of Oregon.
Franklin "Bud" Held, 77, NCAA javelin champion and 1952 Olympian, was the first to throw the javelin more than 260 feet, breaking a world record in 1953 with a throw of 263 feet, 10 inches.

While Jim coached us at WCC we were one of the better teams in Indiana and along with Rivi and IAC (Indianapolis Athletic Club, which hasn't had a swim team for many years as well).
My father had been offered a management position for Combined Insurance Co. and the center of the territory was really Ft. Wayne, but Huntington YMCA swimming had a great program at the time and a great coach as well.
