Nelson Skalbania, the owner of Indianapolis Racers, signed the 17 year old future superstar, Wayne Gretzky to, at that time, a whopping personal contract worth between $1.125 and 1.75 million US over 4 to 7 years.
Pocklington purchased Gretzky and two other Indianapolis players, goaltender Eddie Mio and forward Peter Driscoll, paying $700,000 for the contracts of the three players, although the announced price was actually $850,000.

Gurney established Anglo American Racers Ltd. in Rye, Sussex, to run the Formula 1 operations and commissioned Weslake Engineering to build him a V12 engine, to be designed by Aubrey Woods.
Towards the end of the 1970s the Eagles were less successful but Mike Mosley gave Gurney a final win at Milwaukee in 1981.

Following the 1971-72 season, Parizeau went on to suit up for the Nordiques spent three and half seasons with the team leading them to the 1975 Avco Cup finals, only to be swept in four straight games by Gordie Howe's Houston Aeros.
In 1976 the Nordiques traded Parizeau to the WHA's Indianapolis Racers midway through the 1975-76 WHA season.
Parizeau spent three and half seasons in Indianapolis with the Racers and was teammates with future NHL Superstar and Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky during Gretzky's brief stay in Indianapolis in 1978-79.
