Indians of Canada pavilion resembled a giant 100 foot high teepee.
Other striking elements of the pavilion were the bold, colorful murals on the wooden walls of the building that were painted by artist Francis Kagigewikwenikong, and the tall totem pole standing near the pavilion's entrance.
On both sides of an inclined ramp were a portrayal of the Indians' Ancestral land.

This pavilion is located near the Atlantic Provinces pavilion and that of the United Nations.
The exhibits also highlight their contribution to the exploration of Canada, for example, new arrivals adopted Aboriginal ways such as the birchbark canoe and snowshoes, and Indian guides were instrumental in exploration.
The presence of Canada's First Nations at Expo 67 is an opportunity to build relationships with one another, to introduce to the whole world their traditional customs and values, as well as the very difficult problems they are facing today.

The term "Indians of Canada" isn't exactly politically correct by today's standards.
The Indians of Canada pavilion's architecture incorporated traditional symbols of Aboriginal culture: the dominant element being a large 100-foot steel and wood teepee-like structure.
The pavilion reminded visitors that the first European settlers would have never survived the brutal winters without the support of the Aboriginal people.

The provinces of Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia come together at Expo 67 in the Atlantic Provinces pavilion, located between the Canada pavilion and the Indians of Canada pavilion.
The building, with a large sail flying from its mast, is a symbol of what unites these provinces: the Atlantic Ocean, which is the pavilion's central theme.
Created with the bones of marine animals gathered in Newfoundland, a sculpture of a long ship symbolizes the Viking presence on the Atlantic coast around 1000 A.D. Inside the pavilion is a series of exhibits on natural resources, industry, leisure, and culture and heritage in the Atlantic provinces.

The Canadian pavilion represents a variety of the cultures you would find when visiting, including Native Indian villages, a French-flavored chateau and the Scottish influence of the Maritimes.
The landscaping also represents a variety of themes: evergreen and deciduous plants create a northern theme, elaborate floral displays are part of the Victoria Gardens and the plantings in the rock work form the backdrop for the area.
The filming device used to create that "you are there" feeling in the O Canada movie includes a special five foot tall, 400 pound camera rig, comprising 9 different 35mm cameras, arranged around a tubular shaft containing the motor that drives the mechanisms for all the cameras.
