		The Individual Visit Scheme was first introduced in four Guangdong cities (Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Foshan) on 28 July 2003 as a liberalisation measure under the Closer Economic Partnership Agreement.
		The Scheme allows residents of these cities to visit Hong Kong in their individual capacity.
		Under the Scheme, around 220 million Mainland residents in the above 44 cities with permanent household registration are eligible to apply for the relevant exit endorsement from the relevant Mainland authorities.
