		In the context of building an IST European Research Area, a key role of ISTAG is to reflect and advise on the definition and implementation of a coherent research policy in Europe.

		Foresight on Information Society Technologies in Europe (FISTE) is an umbrella project bringing together various activities of the IPTS/ICT unit.

	REC - Information Society Technologies : Related Activities
		Information Society Technologies help improve electronic access to environmental information, the latter called for under the recently signed and soon to be ratified "Aarhus" ' Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decisionmaking and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters.'
