Infosecpedia:Copyrights - Infosecpedia   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-03)
The goal of Infosecpedia is to create a reliable information resource for information security professionals in an encyclopedia format that is freely available.
Infosecpedia content can be copied, modified, and redistributed so long as the new version grants the same freedoms to others and acknowledges Infosecpedia as the source of the article used.
If you contribute material you acquired from a source that allows the licensing under Infosecpedia License, for instance because the material is in the public domain or is itself published under similar license, you need to acknowledge the authorship and provide a link back to the network location of the original copy.

Infosecpedia, which is free, ad-free, and open content, is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution license.
Infosecpedia is a Wiki, meaning that anyone, including you, can edit any article right now by clicking on the edit tab that that appears at the top of every Infosecpedia article.
Given that the goal of Infosecpedia is to increase awareness and knowledge of information security, thereby serving the greater computing community, an alternative licensing model was sought.

Infosecpedia is a "free information security encyclopedia and handbook" released under the Creative Commons Attribution License and created with wiki software.
The site is aimed at "information security professionals and practitioners, information technologists, and IT management." As of early March, 2004, the site has 148 articles.
In February, 2004, the Infosecpedia license changed from the GNU FDL to the Creative Commons and many of the 123 articles that had already been written had to be recreated.

"Infosecpedia is set up to be self-regulating; which really surprises some people." The open policy is intended to eliminate some of the bottlenecks that other projects encounter.
Still someone else realizes that the articles on the related topics are needed and they start one or two of the articles as a single paragraph.
In the world of Infosecpedia, there is no need to start every article with explanations of basic concepts, because they either already exist in Infosecpedia, or they will soon, and they are amazingly easy to refer to whether they exist or not."

 User talk:Loni - SecurityForest
Hi Loni, I got your message on Infosecpedia (http://www.securitygroup.org/).
As a starting point for us to work together, I added SecurityForest to the Infosecpedia (http://www.infosecpedia.org) interwiki table.
It isn't seemless to the world, because access to most of the SecurityForest pages requires an account, but it should be seemless to SecurityForest users.
