There was no mention of a *sister* named Laura in "Farmer Boy" - Laura Ingalls Wilder's biography of a year of her husband's life as a child in upstate New York.
I learned about The Ingalls' year (Fall 1876 - Fall 1877) in Burr Oak, Iowa, which although was not "frozen in time" with a census page as stays in Wisconsin, Kansas and the Dakota Territory had been, was never-the-less alluded to under the birthplace column next to Grace's name.
