Reta was the daughter of George A. Derousie and Alma Gertrude Baker of Long Sault, Ontario and was predeceased by brother Garnet Earl Derousie (1980).
A Memorial Service was held on October 9th, 2004 with interment at St. Lawrence Union Cemetery, Ingleside, Ontario on Friday, October 15, 2004.

On April 2, auctioneer Peter Ross of Ingleside, Ontario, held a sale in his newly built auction hall that included many items from the late Captain Luke Mallan of Morrisburg, Ontario.
He helped in the enlargement of the canal system in the late 1890’s, being in charge of delivering barges loaded with stone used for the retaining walls.
An interesting part of his career was delivering half-ships from Lake Ontario down the Saint Lawrence to the shipyards at Sorel, Quebec.

This land was eventually passed down to Carmen, the great-great-grandson of Donald.
The auction by Peter Ross of Ingleside, Ontario, took place on site on September 17, 2005, on one of the few rainy days we had all summer.
