Meanwhile, about 300 tonnes of food have now been sent to the victims of severe flooding in the districts of Vilanculo, Inhassoro and Govuro in the southern Mozambican province of Inhambane, according to Silvano Langa, director of the county's relief agency, the DPCCN.

Germany and the European Commission have agreed to finance a rural development programme in the southern Mozambican province of Inhambane to the tune of eight million euros (about 9.7 million US dollars).
The release describes the objective of FINDER as "to contribute to poverty reduction in Inhambane through improving public social and economic infrastructures, and through strengthening the capacities of the local government and administrative structures (particularly for district planning)".
Among the components of FINDER is a fund for "Infrastructure projects identified with the participation of civil society in the districts and municipalities of Inhambane", and a "direct administration fund", which will be attributed annually directly to districts and municipalities "to finance small scale work on maintaining and rehabilitating existing public infrastructure".
