 | | MAPUTO, Mozambique (PANA) - The administrator of the district of Inhassoro, in the southern Mozambican province of Inhambane, Francisco Massingue, has described the situation in the flood-stricken district as ''catastrophic,'' saying that an unspecified number of people are missing. |
 | | The floods, caused by the torrential rains that have been falling since December, have destroyed about 10,000 hectares of crops and interrupted traffic along the country's main north-south highway through Inhambane, on the stretch between Pambara and Mapinhane. |
 | | Meanwhile, about 300 tonnes of food have now been sent to the victims of severe flooding in the districts of Vilanculo, Inhassoro and Govuro in the southern Mozambican province of Inhambane, according to Silvano Langa, director of the county's relief agency, the DPCCN. |
