DEVELOPMENT OF INHOMOGENEOUS DISK-LOADED ACCELERATING WAVEGUIDES AND RF-COUPLING
The accelerating structures consist of the inhomogeneous disk-loaded waveguides and input and output couplers.
A more complicated is the case of inhomogeneous disk-loaded waveguides for which the periodicity condition is violated and, strictly speaking, the grounds disappear not only for utilization of cavity stacks, but for existence of traveling waves which are synchronous with charged particles.
As far as the possibility of using for acceleration (generation, amplification) purposes disk-loaded waveguides with highly variable parameters, in each specific case, there is necessity to analyze the types and structures of waveguide fields and, then, develop techniques for tuning the components of this slow-wave structure.

INHOMOGENEOUS WAVES IN SOLIDS AND FLUIDS
The book may be viewed as an introduction to time-harmonic waves in dissipative bodies, notably viscoelastic solids and fluids.
The inhomogeneity of the waves, which is due to the fact that planes of constant phase are not parallel to planes of constant amplitude, is shown to be strictly related to the dissipativity of the medium.
A preliminary analysis is performed on the propagation of inhomogeneous waves in unbounded media and of reflection and refraction at plane interfaces.

 Homogenous and inhomogenous coordinates
So the point whose inhomogeneous coordinate is a number x, rather than ∞, has homogeneous coordinates (x,1), while the point whose inhomogeneous coordinate is ∞, has homogeneous coordinates (1,0).
We are thinking of the numbers a,b,c,d as being inhomogeneous coordinates of points on a projective line, so we might want to allow one of them to be ∞.
The easiest way to do this is write them in inhomogeneous coordinates, and then use their first coordinates (the projection on the x-axis) or their second coordinates (the projection on the y-axis).

 Large-Scale Inhomogeneous Thermodynamics
For example, the oceans and atmosphere possess the inhomogeneous multi-equilibrium states with equal amounts of mass and energy; the zeroth law of classical thermodynamics cannot be applied for the inhomogeneous thermodynamic systems, and the irreversible variations may not be explained only by the change of classical thermodynamic entropy.
Some well-known consequences resulting from the statistical thermodynamics may also be obtained simply from the new theory, since the statistical therm-odynamics may be viewed as the microscopic inhomogeneous therm-odynamics.
Examples of large-scale inhomogeneous thermodynamic systems are the atmosphere and oceans on the Earth.

Inhomogeneous spatial point processes by location-dependent scaling, Ute Hahn, Eva B. Vedel Jensen, Marie-Colette van ...
A new class of models for inhomogeneous spatial point processes is introduced.
This is achieved by replacing volume measures used in the density with locally scaled analogues defined by a location-dependent scaling function.
The new approach is particularly appealing for modelling inhomogeneous Markov point processes.

Spatially Inhomogeneous Cosmological Models   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-18)
NB: Classification in terms of 3-D Riemannian geometries of the spacelike 3-surface orthogonal to the matter fluid flow (intrinsic geometry of 3-surfaces) and the normal, irrotational timelike congruences (extrinsic geometry of 3-surfaces); results are independent of any field eqs; quite technical.
Sub-Hubble radius scale inhomogeneities are modelled in Newtonian terms and a Zel'dovich approximation to first order is applied.

Inhomogeneous electromagnetic wave equation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Maxwell's equations can be written in the form of a Inhomogeneous electromagnetic wave equation (or often "nonhomogeneous electromagnetic wave equation") with sources.
The addition of sources to the wave equations makes the partial differential equations inhomogeneous.
The requirement that the speed of light is constant in every inertial reference frame leads to the theory of relativity

Inhomogeneous boundary values - Numerical Recipes Forum   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-18)
I want to have fixed boundary values (inhomogeneous boundary values) and I use the multigrid algorithm for nonlinear problems (numerical recipes in C).
Usually you can treat inhomogeneous boundary conditions by modifying the rhs.
If you can't do this in your example, you need to add the boundary condition equations explicitly to the multigrid code, solving the differential equation on the interior only.

A recurrence of this type, linear except for a function of
on the right hand side, is called an inhomogeneous recurrence.
We can solve inhomogeneous recurrences explicitly when the right hand side is itself a linear recursive sequence.
