Strength for Life - Happiness & Inner Strength
At the core of the whole Strength for Life initiative is a gentle, yet unyielding commitment to being true to Self and of developing a wisdom and understanding of the Self.
With this awareness we set about identifying the keys to happiness, inner strength, and finding personal fulfillment and meaning in one's life, and this culminated with our recording of 'Happiness' in 2004, and this became the flagship and foundational base for our approach to achieveing all of these things.
The achievement of happiness and inner strength for everyone is at the heart of the purpose of our work with Strength for Life, and through our presentations, forums, articles and events we are constantly seeking to expand this growing, collective awareness, and we of course invite you to participate in any way you wish.

The group Inner Life spawned a handful of amazing disco singles and three accomplished LPs that have remained as powerful as they day they were recorded.
Inner Life's breakout occurred in 1979 with "I'm Caught Up (In a One Night Love Affair)" a sad but redemptive single written in part by the venerable Patrick Adams (who put together Musique, another Jocelyn Brown group that scored with "In the Bush" and "Keep on Jumpin'").
Generally considered to be the finest Inner Life LP, it featured "Moment of My Life," a joyous song with an infectious skipping/hopping feel to it.

Inner Life : The realization of the Inner Life
In all capacities the one who lives the inner life has to act outwardly as he ought in order to fit the occasion; he must act according to the circumstances, and he must speak to everyone in his own language, standing upon the same level, and yet realizing the inner life.
The inner life is not lived by closing the eyes; one need not close one's eyes from this world in order to live in it, one can just as well open them.
Therefore the realization of the inner life is entering the kingdom of heaven; and this consciousness when it comes to the human being shows itself as a new birth, and with this new birth there comes the assurance of everlasting life.

To the one who lives the inner life the world is a stage; on this he is the actor who has to act a part in which he has sometimes to be angry and sometimes loving, and in which he has to take part both in tragedy and comedy.
For the man who has realized the inner life every act is his meditation; if he is walking in the street it is his meditation; if he is working as a carpenter, as a goldsmith or in any other trade or business, that is his meditation.
The inner life is a birth of the soul; as Christ said, that unless the soul is born again it cannot enter the kingdom of heaven.

The next thing in the attainment of the inner life is to seek a spiritual guide, someone whom a man can absolutely trust and have every confidence in; someone to whom he can look up, and with whom he is in sympathy, which would culminate in what is called devotion.
The fourth grade of attainment of the inner life is meditation.

Powell's Books - Virginia Woolf: an Inner Life by Julia Briggs
Analyzing Woolf's own commentary on the creative process through her letters, diaries, and essays, Julia Briggs has produced a book that is a convincing, moving portrait of an artist, as well as a profound meditation on the nature of creativity.
Ever since this most singularly gifted of women, whose genius is as protean as it is profound, committed suicide at the age of 58 in 1941 at the height of her creative powers, her life and work has engendered an unremitting flow of books.
(Woolf was drawn to water imagery throughout her life as a metaphor for the process of intellection.) And Briggs has done an extraordinarily skillful job of interweaving Woolf's experience as a writer with her experience as a woman in the world, one who pondered the 'life of frocks' and who had arguments with her cook.
