Mr Hill said last year's release of the wallabies to Innes National Park was the first stage of a project to reintroduce the species to at least two suitable sites in SA.
The tiny Tammar wallabies were found dead at the weekend in South Australia's Innes National Park, at the tip of the Yorke Peninsula.
They were among 10 of the wallabies reintroduced into the park from New Zealand last November.

We were not supposed to camp in the parking lot overlooking the long beach, but there was not anybody to bother.
