These closed records are a product of the shame associated with adoption, as well as the desire of adopters to take the child "as if" the child was their own.
Sealed records and falsified birth certificates continue to plague the majority of natural parents and adopted adults, as both parties are statistically apt to seek a reunion later in life.
"The Open Record" was designed to promote activism toward abolishing the secret, sealed records system of adoption, and Carangelo always encouraged others to reproduce all or part of her publications in order to spread the message to a wider audience.

The ancient world was given to Pantheism and creature-worship; Israel only, not because of its "monotheistic instinct" (Renan), but because of the periodic interposition of God through His prophets, resisted in the main the general tendency to idolatry.
The third antecedent condition to the birth of Christianity, as we learn from the sacred records, was a special participation of the Holy Spirit given to the Apostles on the day of Pentecost.
To the Jews they dwelt upon the marvellous fulfilment of the prophesies in Christ, showing that, in spite of the manner of His life and death, He was actually the Messias, and that their redemption from sin had really been accomplished by His sacrifice on the Cross.

Instinct Records has simply been incredibly incommunicative and misleading.
The destruction of untold amounts of CD stock in the first week of June, and the subsequent inability by so many artists to find out the truth of what happened to their work, stands now as a galvanizing force.
We have started a petition to demand a full and fair accounting of our work, an honest account of destroyed and discarded CD stock, the payment of all publishing and artist royalties due, and the return of masters for those artists whom Instinct Records is no longer actively printing, selling, or promoting.

Albert Camus [Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy]
Though he was baptized, raised, and educated as a Catholic and invariably respectful towards the Church, Camus seems to have been a natural-born pagan who showed almost no instinct whatsoever for belief in the supernatural.
Like an anthropologist, he records his observations with clinical detachment at the same time that he himself is warily observed by the community around him.
At heart a nature-worshipper, and by instinct a skeptic and non-believer, Camus nevertheless retained a lifelong interest and respect for Christian philosophy and literature.
