MUSC Psychiatry is headquartered in its own building, the Institute of Psychiatry (IOP), where the majority of the Department’s faculty, residency training programs, research programs, and administrative offices are located.
The Department is ranked among the top psychiatry departments in the US with respect to level of research support.
Also housed in the IOP are a variety of day treatment programs, the Center for Drug and Alcohol Programs (CDAP), the Brain Stimulation Laboratory, and other psychiatry research space, including two wings where neurobiological studies pertinent to the understanding of psychiatric illness are conducted.

The Clarke Institute of Psychiatry was the name of a psychiatric hospital in Toronto, Ontario.
In 1998, the Clarke Institute merged with several other Ontario institutions to form the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), and the facility is now called the CAMH Clarke Campus.
Being the home of Ray Blanchard and several associates, the CIP and its successor CAMH have been accused several times by persons in the transgender community, [1] including accusations of unethical behaviour, poor customer service, and the application of questionable techniques to transsexual and transgender persons more commonly associated with the treatment of sex offenders.

Professor Murray trained in psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital and was formerly Dean of the IoP.
He is Professor of Epidemiological and Liaison Psychiatry and Director of the King’s Centre for Military Health Research, a joint venture between the Department of Psychological Medicine and King’s College London’s Department of War Studies (in the School of Social Science and Public Policy).

The Cornell Institute of Geriatric Psychiatry was established in October 1994.  Its mission is to conduct research in geriatric psychiatric disorders, to train clinicians and investigators, and to provide specialized psychiatric care to older adults.
The Cornell Institute offers training in Geriatric Psychiatry to medical students, psychiatry residents and graduate students of fields related to geriatric mood disorders.  The Institute has two fellowship training programs.
The Clinical Fellowship Program in Geriatric Psychiatry, operating since 1980, designed to train psychiatrists in specialized clinical care to older adults.  The Research Fellowship Program has been funded by the National Institute of Mental Health since 1990 to provide research training to junior investigators in the conduct of studies in geriatric mood disorders.
