		I actually noticed that on my home PC, I have authorized full access to the internet for Microsoft Intellipoint and Point 32.exe, but my work PC (where I'm experiencing the problem) I didn't have th e rule set for point32.exe.
		The strange thing is that I also have an "expert" rule set on the program ac cess to log and alert any access request from these programs and I have yet to see an attempt.

		When I replaced it, the new mouse came with Intellipoint (5.0 I think), which placed a icon in the tray after installation.
		The control panel applet has a number of tabs, but none of them seem to contain a checkbox for showing/hiding the tray icon, nor do any of the tab labels seem more than remotely appropriate as a place to put one (the tab labels are Buttons, Pointers, Motion, Hardware, Activities, and Scrolling).
		I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Intellipoint, both from the CD that came with the mouse and a more up-to-date one I found searching the Microsoft site, which I had used to update the installed point32.exe.

		I have IntelliPoint 2.2 and it locks up the setup for 2000.
		I uninstalled it through add/remove programs in the control panel and deleted some other files that were in user profiles.
		Intellipoint still shows up in the incompatible windows and still locks up.

		Usually I do not install the IntelliPoint software that is in the box when you buy a Microsoft Mouse – unless I have Visual Studio installed on the computer I am using the mouse with.
		But the navigate buttons are not mapped to the back and forward buttons of the mouse like they are in a web browser.

		So now you can only assign it to things like double click, and next etc. You can no longer set it in the Intellipoint software to be a middle click.
		I set the wheel button to AutoScroll (the default in 4.1 and earlier) and the middle button works with Exceed as it used to.
		What I don't like is that IntelliPoint 5.0 took away the application-specific button settings.

		I so far have NOT been able to install or use either intellipoint OR intellitype and its a real shame, but because of this, XMouse was born.
		I havnt tried the intellipoint drivers for a while now - I heard that they will be releasing x64 drivers in January 2006...

		Never had intellipoint problems before, and maybe it's the order of the install.
		I first put in Intellipoint 4.0, saw the problem, then put in 5.2.........I somehow missed the fact that 5.x is for later mice, not the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0A, that we use.
		Anyway, when I'm done working, I'm going to try to install Intellipoint again (4.12, is the latest, for "early" mice), but with the Wingman Profiler shut down, because I have both on MY Win XP SP2, and they work fine together.
