 Arab Inter-parliamentary Union
Euro-Arab Parliamentary Dialogue began in 1974, and was parallel to the Euro-Arab governmental Dialogue which also started in 1974, in view of the conviction that there is mutual interests in the establishing and the strengthening of an overall cooperation between the Arab and the West European Countries.
- The parliamentary Association For Euro-Arab Cooperation, which was founded in 1974, and whose membership has risen to about 650 parliamentarians from the countries of the European Union and the Council of Europe.
The Union’s President supperintends the whole work of the union.

 Inter-Parliamentary Union IPU
The Inter-Parliamentary Union, founded in 1889, is the world’s oldest and most broadly-based organisation for cooperation between legislative assemblies.
Council as well as the Union's four Plenary Study Committees assemble in conjunction with assemblies.
At the first annual meeting of a parliamentary term, the group elects an executive committee, which in turn elects the person who will chair the IPU group for the parliamentary term.

The Inter-Parliamentary Union is an international organization established in 1889 by William Randal Cremer (United Kingdom) and Frédéric Passy (France).
The Committee for a Democratic UN and the German Bundestag have expressed interest in the possibility of transforming the IPU into a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly[1].
The IPU has worked for establishment of institutions at the inter-governmental level, including the United Nations, an organization with which it cooperates.

Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) is the world organization of Parliaments.
The renewed discussion, in the 1990s, on the democratic deficit of international relations and on the necessity of establishing a parliamentary dimension to the United Nations led to a strengthening of cooperation between the IPU and the United Nations.
Thus, the Union established a complaint procedure for the violation of towards human rights of parliamentarians, prepared and accompanied the CSCE process at the parliamentary level, worked for an equal representation of women in Parliaments and set up a technical assistance program for Parliaments of mostly new democracies.

One is the Inter-Parliamentary Union, one is the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and the other, of which I forget the formal title, is the Anglo-American inter-parliamentary group.
IPU visits and meetings with other Parliaments create a good environment for the lively exchange of views on a wide variety of topics, and the twice-yearly conferences allow members to discuss matters of common interest on an international level.
I have not yet had the privilege of attending an IPU delegation, although I have attended a Commonwealth Parliamentary Association delegation.

 rediff.com: Inter-Parliamentary Union suspends Pakistan
The 103rd conference of the Inter-Parliamentary Union has suspended Pakistan from its membership for the dissolution of its National Assembly and the inability of the regime led by General Pervez Musharraf to restart the electoral process.
She said Pakistan's suspension was the result of its toppling a democratically elected government and replacing it with a dictatorial regime that has not even assured the international community of the country's return to the electoral process.
Disclosing this at a press conference in New Delhi today, IPU president and Rajya Sabha deputy chairperson Najma Heptulla pointed out that the other countries suspended for derailing their parliamentary systems were the Ivory Coast and Sudan.

The 31st session of the council of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union opened on Monday in Sanaa with the participation of delegations representing all Arab parliaments.
For his part, chairman of the Arab Parliamentary Union Ahmad Fathi Srour talked about the Arab - Israeli conflict and stressed the importance of Israel's withdrawal from all occupied Arab territories to achieve stability and security in the region.
Yemen's Parliament Speaker Sheikh Abdullah al-Ahmad stressed that peace cannot be established unless Israel withdraws from the Syrian Golan Heights, south Lebanon and Palestine.

The Consultative Council (Majlis Al-Shura) today won full membership in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) by unanimous vote of the federation's members in its 108th session currently under way in the capital of Chile, Santiago.
