  Hampshire County Council
The Council is seeking to develop ways of maintaining and improving accessibility while at the same time improving the environment within the urban areas which will increase their attractiveness both as economic centres and places to live.
The County Council is also seeking changes in the grant criteria to facilitate the introduction of balanced packages of proposals in urban areas which will effect the implementation of their Structure Plan urban transport policies.
The County Council are anxious to support the Government's speed related publicity campaigns, as this is known to be one of the primary accident causation factors featuring in around 12% of all accidents in Hampshire.

Council President Mareck brought forward a resolution entitled “Statement of Support.” The intent of the resolution denounces the recent acts of vandalism to   local Somali establishments and welcomes all people to our City who are legally in our Country.
Council President Mareck stated that the December 5 Special Joint Meeting of Area Cities has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts with the Area Legislators and the Area Cities involved.
Council President Mareck asked to discuss the need to conduct the Joint meeting of the HRA, Planning Commission, and City Council, which is scheduled for Monday, December 30.

 Novato City Council Minutes
The City Manager responded to Council that staff and the City Attorney researched all the records and it is the City Attorney's opinion that the action taken by Council at their January 27, 1998 meeting to change the Marion Park zoning to park land conformed with the process of law.
Council held the second reading and adopted Ordinance 1383 amending the zoning designation for the Marion Park from RP (Planned Residential) to A-2 (Limited Agriculture).
Council and staff thanked City staff, including those who worked in the emergency operating center, Maintenance crews and the Police Department for their outstanding efforts during the recent storms.

The regular meeting of the Council of the Township of Armour was held on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at 7:30 p.m.
Council reviewed the application to conduct a raffle on September 5, 2005 and a resolution to authorize the issuance of a lottery licence was passed.

Greenspan reminded the Council that they will have the opportunityto elect twenty more fellows over the course of the next two years and recommended that the Council discuss whether or not it wants to reconsider the percentage of allowable elected fellows.
Frank van Graas asked the Council if they felt it was appropriate for the Council to consider the IAIN request of forming a steering committee to assist the IAIN in achieving self-sufficiency with their programs and financial stability.
It was suggested that the Congressional Fellow report back to the ION on a regular basis with presentations during Council meetings, technical sessions and with articles for the newsletter.

Following the Pledge of Allegiance, a regular meeting of the City Council of St. Cloud, Minnesota, was held on March 13, 2000, at 7:00 p.m.
It was determined that issues that require further resolution include implementation, wastewater, and the annexation of a portion of St. Augusta Township into the City of St. Cloud and the incorporation of the balance of St. Augusta Township into the City of Ventura.
Council President Berg commented on attending a recent meeting of the National League of Cities meeting held in Washington, D. She noted that she had an opportunity to visit with local Congressmen and one Senator in respect to the Interchange, extension of the Airport runway, Metro Transit System and other pertinent issues.

Council discussion concluded that such a group should draw on library directors attending the Financial Planning Meeting but should also include additional "disinterested parties." i.e., directors from institutions that do not plan to be a Founding Depositor or serve as host.
EC recommends that Council ask SBC to consider ways to define or limit in-house lending with the goal of encouraging the lending of more materials without creating a service that is overly burdensome to administer.
As is often the case, the receipt of an application caused Council to review the membership process and question whether or not current membership criteria provide sufficient guidance.

Council adopted Resolution 71-98 that sets the membership, terms of office and duties for the Civic Arts Commission and introduced Ordinance 1392 repealing Section 2-15 of the Novato Municipal Code.
Council adopted Resolutions 72-98 and 73-98 reducing the membership of the Housing and Services Commission and the Commission on Drugs and Alcohol to nine.
Council adopted 74-98 to amend Planning Consultant Services for Private Projects in the amount of $370,000 within the Community Development Department and increase expenditure appropriations with a balancing amount in cost recovery revenue account.

 Hampshire County Council
It is necessary, because of Government regulations, for the County Council to apply EC grant to debt redemption and to seek credit approval from the Department of Transport (DoT) to support the project.
Hampshire County Council would no doubt wish to be the lead authority, in view of the fact that the County Council is also the Transportation Authority and best placed to deal with the matter.
Therefore, it would seem sensible to set up a Steering Group comprising one senior officer from each authority, one of whom would be the Chairman and Project Director from Hampshire County Council.

 Penwith District Council - All Change! Penzance Public Transport Interchange
The work at the interchange has been spearheaded by a partnership group with representatives from Penwith District Council, Cornwall County Council, Penzance Town Council and Forum, Railtrack, Wessex Trains and First Western National.
Additional funding is being provided by the Strategic Rail Authority, the Countryside Agency and the Regional Arts Lottery Programme (administered by Public Arts South West).
Another project includes plans for the redevelopment of the old Cornishman premises on Parade Street by the Penwith Community Development Trust.

 Press Releases: Waverley Council
Council decided to produce the protocol after community consultations revealed a lack of safe recreational spaces for young people in the area.
It was developed by a steering committee made up of a wide range of community members - including young people, youth agencies, residents, Council staff, shopping centre security staff, police and local businesses working closely together since October 2003.
Responsibility for the protocol will be shared between Police, Council rangers and the management of private spaces working closely with young people and the community.

The board will now work with Haringey Council to prepare a development brief, assist in selecting suitable developers as partners for the project, oversee interim management and consider ways to establish a community trust to take forward the long-term interest in the building.

Birmingham City Council holds 'quarterly' CAG meetings with organisations in the area to discuss various cycling issues.
Being a rather large task, it was decided the best approach would be to set up a subgroup where the Council and Push Bikes could work together to identify key routes to prioritise for signage and how to mark less significant routes without incurring great expense or cluttering the streets with masses of unpopular signage.

The Electronic Enterprise Working Group (EEWG) was formed under the Supplier Management Council and was directed by the AIA electronic Business Steering Group (eBSG) to reduce and eliminate divergent Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) requirements imposed on suppliers and to create user-friendly, cost effective e-commerce solutions.
The EEWG, directed by the AIA electronic Business Steering Group (eBSG), has used its successful harmonization process on ICs and adopted the Universal Data Element Framework (UDEF) as the tool to accomplish this direction and is developing the approach necessary for industry-wide implementation.
It has been found that suppliers need to take ownership of the implementation and they also have excellent ideas in developing policy and processes for execution.

 Penrith City Council
Vince Hardy from Cityscape Planning and Projects Consultants has been engaged as a place manager for the project.
A Project Steering Committee has been established, comprising representatives from Landcom, UWS, TAFE, PlanningNSW and Council to co-ordinate the development of the precinct strategy and Master Plan. 
In November 2003, Council considered the ideas developed through that process and the outcomes of the ‘Enquiry by Design’ process.  Following Council’s endorsement of the key planning concepts, the concepts are currently being refined for submission to the Steering Committee.
