Planet Sinclair: Computers: Peripherals: Interface 1
Interface 1 was perhaps the most interesting of Sinclair Research's small peripherals range.
The network facility was in fact the original raison d'être of the Interface 1 - the Microdrive interface came at a later stage - and was probably intended to improve the Spectrum's usefulness in an educational environment.
The Interface 2 (in its original form as a network interface) was planned even before the release of the ZX Spectrum in April 1982.

ZX Interface 1 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A peripheral from Sinclair Research for its ZX Spectrum home computer, the ZX Interface 1 was launched in 1983.
Originally intended as a local area network interface for use in school classrooms, it was revised before launch to also act as the controller for up to eight ZX Microdrive high-speed tape-loop cartridge drives.
A wedge-shaped device fitting underneath the Spectrum, Interface 1 contained 8 kB of ROM with the control software for the Microdrives, RS-232 port and network interface.

interface in the DOM Level 1 Core provides an interface to the list of entities that are defined for the document, and little else because the effect of namespaces and the various XML scheme efforts on DTD representation are not clearly understood as of this writing.

If the interface provides some sort of feedback describing or naming the icon, using it a few times can be enough to imprint that icon’s function clearly in the user’s mind.
If you consider interface a means of conveyance--a way of getting from here to there--and you compare interface tools to a railroad, digital is to analog as each staccato rail tie is to the source-to-destination rail line.
As construction devices, interfaces that show objects with handles that can be stretched and shrunk may not be as precise as their key-in counterparts but relate much better to the person doing the constructing.

Web Service Choreography Interface (WSCI) 1.0   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-12)
Message choreography: a WSCI interface describes the order in which messages can be sent or received in a given message exchange, the rules which govern such ordering, the boundaries of a message exchange (when it starts and when it ends).
The WSCI interface definition is embedded inside the wsdl:definitions element; it does not require a root element nor does it require to be written in a separate file.
The interface element is the WSCI container; it is designed to contain all the WSCI process definitions that describe the dynamic behavior of the Web Service in the context of a given message exchange (in our case, the Travel Reservation System process).

LLT Journal: Design and Evaluation of the User Interface...
Using a definition of the user interface as the communication channel between the user and the functional elements of the computer (Furnes and Barfield, 1995; Marchionini, 1991; Waterworth, 1992), human-computer interaction can be seen as a system with three components: a computer/application, an interface, and a human user subsystems (see Figure 1).
The design process of a user interface involves the development of a conceptual model of the application and its functionality by the designer, which is then implemented as the user interface, often using one or many metaphors.
Interface design is the process of selecting interface elements and features based on their ability to deliver support for the cognitive processes involved in the instructional activities facilitated by the application.

Task-Centered User Interface Design : 1. The Task-Centered Design Process
These and a multitude of other interface considerations are often lost in traditional requirements analysis, but they can be uncovered when the designer takes time to look into the details of tasks that users actually perform.
Although interface design hasn't yet reached the level of sophistication of aircraft engineering, there are several structured approaches you can take to discover the strengths and weakness of an interface before building it.
Because the task-centered design methodology spreads the activities of interface design throughout the software design and life cycle, the interface can't be produced or analyzed at one point by a group of interface specialists.

Because the COM port has not been activated by the test sequence, the supply voltages within the interface (in particular the positive supply) may not have been established, this results in all three interface pins being at the same potential which is the same condition as shorting all three together i.e.

The Common Gateway Interface (CGI) is a simple interface for running external programs, software or gateways under an information server in a platform-independent manner.
Together with a concrete programmer interface this specifies a platform-independent interface between the script and the HTTP server.
If the script is executed by calling a function linked in to the server software (either at compile-time or run-time) then precautions should be taken to protect the core memory of the server, or to ensure that untrusted code cannot be executed.

Data Structures in Java: Part 9, The Comparator Interface, Part 1
The Comparator interface can also be used to establish sorting order for objects that do not implement the Comparable interface and therefore do not have a natural ordering.
By implementing the Comparator interface, an object instantiated from the class is eligible for being passed to the constructor for a TreeSet object, which requires an incoming parameter of type Comparator.
As is always the case when implementing interfaces, a class that implements the Comparator interface must provide concrete definitions for both of these methods.

By now, you are probably wondering what all of this has to do with the Comparable interface, because I haven't mentioned that interface since the introductory comments at the beginning of the lesson.
Because a SortedSet does eliminate duplicates and does sort the elements on the basis of their values, there is a requirement to compare each new element with the existing elements in a SortedSet whenever a new element is added to the collection.
