  Interleaf layer in fiber reinforced resin laminate composites - Patent 4954382
The use of interleaf layers to improve strength and integrity of fiber reinforced resin composites began with the use of interleaf sheets of thermosetting resin, usually thinner than the fiber reinforced sheets in the composite.
Thermosetting adhesive compositions for coating the thermoplastic interleaf sheet must be capable of forming a thermoset adhesive bond at temperatures that are used for curing the reinforced thermosetting layers of the composite.
In honeycomb core composites having reinforced epoxy layers and thermoplastic interleaf, the continuous thermoplastic interleaf is a moisture barrier to exclude water vapor from the honeycomb core.

We have been able to convert Interleaf documents to HTML using the following steps: [Interleaf -> RTF -> HTML steps deleted ] I've had some success converting Interleaf 5 documents first to Frame 4 documents, then to HTML using fm2html.
In Interleaf, write out an Interleaf 4 ASCII (I4A) file 2.
The problems I have run into mostly stem from inabilities of Frame's I4A reader to grok various things you can toss in an Interleaf file.
