Hanns Eisler: Music: A Virtual Tour
Often aggressive and sarcastic, Eisler's songs from this period were sung in street demonstrations, public auditoriums and left-wing cabarets.
Like his other work, the songs are communicative and direct—some of them last no more than one or two minutes.
He now rarely used the march tempo in songs (except as a parody): marching music, Eisler believed, had been debased by the Nazis and was no longer an acceptable idiom for postwar Germany.

Swing Era Soloists -- History of Jazz
Up to this point, however, her treatment of the blues is percussive, abstract (you may notice strange fragmentary hints of boogie-woogie style in her left-hand, for example, at 1:24 and 1:44), and highly imaginative.
The career of Ella Fitzgerald (one of the few jazz greats born in Virginia, by the way) began when she was plucked from obscurity by winning a talent competition at the Apollo Theater in Harlem in 1934, and continued with her unparalled successes as the vocalist for the swing band led by drummer Chick Webb.
Fitzgerald's vocal virtuosity is never so evident as in her flawless performance of the song's tricky riffs, clearly intended originally to be played rather than sung.

 Reason to Rock: School Day
So we can see that this brief rock song encapsulates the mission of rock music as a liberating force, freeing a generation from a value system that places structure, discipline and rote learning at the top of its pyramid, and releasing it to a new world dominated by passion and feeling.
To fully appreciate the first line of the song, you need to compare it to the first line of the last verse: “Hail, hail, rock and roll.” Note that, for ostensibly the same melody, you have only five syllables in the last verse, and a total of nine in the first.
This is not just a matter of convenience, or sloppiness: the crowded syllables in the first verse perfectly represent the hectic day at school, while the clean and graceful melody of the last verse represents the unfettered freedom offered by rock music.

Notice how the song employs a chorus, which is that ear-catching lyric and melody that returns without change—in this case “Shake, Rattle, and Roll.” We will return to consider the relationship of the verse and chorus sections of the song a little later.
Perhaps the song form most associated with Pop in the decades preceding the birth of rock and roll is the AABA form.
Most AABA songs would be too short if the song only consisted of one time through the 32-bar pattern, so usually all or some part of the pattern is repeated.

No is the "James Bond Theme", although the opening credits also include an untitled bongo interlude, and concludes with a vocal Calypso-flavoured rendition of "Three Blind Mice" entitled "Kingston Calypso" that sets the scene.
